25 years Technology Park

1 Juli 2011 - The idea of the Technology Park from the city of Braunschweig is simple: the start into independence should be facilitated technology-oriented founders.

They should focus exclusively on building and developing their business.
A team of the citie’s economic development agency takes care for infrastructure, facilities and advice. This strategy worked. Since 1986, 120 companies emerged from the Technology Park, which are successful in the market until today.

At the ceremony of the 25^th anniversary Braunschweig’s Mayor Dr. Gert Hoffmann and Lower Saxony State Ministry for Economic Affairs Dr. Oliver Liersch stated that the responsibility and risk by starting a new company will be made aware of and supported by the Technology Park. Both talked about the successful operation of the Center of Founders and the presented CEOs of start-up companies confirmed them in their statements.

AICON 3D Systems is one of the founders which were supported by the Technology Park and a leading global provider of optical camera based 3D measurement systems now. The Presidents and CEOs Dr. Carl-Thomas Schneider and Dr. Werner Bösemann could tell about the value of the Founders Center on the anniversary celebration. In an interview, Dr. Schneider recalled: "In the initial phase, it was really helpful for us not to worry about the infrastructure and administration. We could focus on what should be important for our company, namely new developments and how to sell these developments. The helpful discussions and exchanges with other founders also ensured that most of the fundamental mistakes could be avoided."

The event at the House of Science ended with a meeting, which was used for a lively exchange from a lot of alumnae.
