In the past free-form tubes were in demand primarily from the furniture business for design reasons, these days demand is generated from all industrial areas. Consequently, more tube benders need the right measuring systems which take the particularities of complex free-form tubing into account. This is where AICON's optical measurement system TubeInspect offers an ideal solution. It carries out very precise testing of free-form tube geometries with the help of high-resolution digital cameras. Moreover, it can correct the connected freeform bending machines.
For short pipes
- programmable optical gauge
- for tubes with diameters of 3.2 - 200 mm and lengths of up to 2 m
- set up and correction of bending programs
- reverse engineering of sample tubes
- automatic 100 percent inspection in a robot cell
"With TubeInspect we are in the position to monitor our processes in a fast and effective way as the measuring system shows accuracy information for the bent tubes after only a few seconds.”
Ralf Unger, König Metall GmbH & Co. KG, Gaggenau (Germany)
Your advantages
- very fast results after only 5-20 seconds (depending on tube length)
- replaces mechanical gauges
- non-contact measurement
- user-independent results
- provides documentation of measurements (protocols)
- less space necessary than with larger model TubeInspect
Functional principle
TubeInspect S, a non-contact measuring system, merely requires that the tube to be measured is placed in an optical measuring cell. Ten high resolution digital cameras accurately measure the tube’s geometry in a few seconds. The tube does not need to be moved. The geometry is reported in an easily understandable way, that is as sheath tolerance.
